A little drive out from Bromley, but Polhill garden centre is a huge garden centre that has a huge selection of tropical fish you can feed and admire. It’s particularly pretty around Christmas and Halloween with lovely decorations to look at and coupled with a drink in a cafe, it makes a great activity for young kids on a rainy day. Find out what’s happening at Polhill Garden Centre here.
Bromley is lucky to have a great theatre with a variety of different shows on throughout the year. The pantomime at Christmas is always a favourite and their shows are geared towards kids as well as adults. It’s a medium-sized theatre seating 785 and has a bar, and there are public car parks nearby. See what’s on here.
Crofton Roman Villa is the only Roman villa open to the public in Greater London. It was inhabited from about AD 140 to 400 and was the centre of a large farming estate. Today you can see the remains of 10 rooms protected inside a public viewing building. It’s a very small exhibition and remains include tiled floors and the under-floor heating system. Over the Easter and Summer Holidays there are special events for children. There is a dressing up area for small kids and some Roman games to play.
